I decided to name her Princess Isabella because I find long pet names hilarious, and she just looked so regal and dapper yet annoyed with us all. Most of the time, we call her Izzy or Squirrel Tail. She is the smaller of our two cats, and she has very long dark fur. She sheds like crazy, so if we are not careful, she will start to get a little dreadlock along her spine that makes her look like she has a ridgeback. When she is trying to lead one of us towards her empty food or water dish, she does a specific little prancing trot. She is super soft and fluffy and will tolerate being held like a little baby. Unlike her sister, Arya, she is afraid of everything.
Arya and Princess Isabella were the last of their litter to be adopted. Luckily, they were buy one, get one free! She is named after Arya Stark because when we first got her, she was so curious and fearless. Unlike her sister, she is way too smart for her own good. We accidentally discovered that she loves to play fetch with Jello-shot cups. She has also figured out the most effective way to get more food when her bowl is not full enough is to start eating things like plastic bags, cardboard or tape. Empty cardboard boxes are her favorite cat bed, so there are always one or two empty ones around the house for her to climb into.
We got Jack two or three years ago from a couple on Craigslist. His name was originally Will, but we changed it because he did not respond to it and my husband thought his little dog smile reminded him of a TV character - Jack McFarland. From the first day we got him, he has been my little sandy shadow; he follows me around everywhere. He is small but has a very loud and soul-piercing bark. He loves to be outside, but he HATES water, which is awful, because I love to swim. He loves treats, and when he gets really excited, he jumps up on his hind legs.
